Tours are varied, going to Corkscrew Gulch, Hurricane Pass and California Pass to name a few. While driving, your guide will give you the history of the area as well as interesting blurbs and facts. You can find Switzerland of America at 226 Seventh Avenue in the city proper.
San Juan Skyway
Driving along the San Juan Skyway, you will be treated to dramatic cliffs, thundering waterfalls and wildflowers aplenty. 236 miles of scenery leaves nothing to be desired; there is something for everyone in the family to fall in love with. Stop at one of the national parks and enjoy bicycling, kayaking, skiing and fishing!
Animas Forks
Visit a real ghost town that has been abandoned since the turn of the century. Kept alive as a mining town from 1890 until 1930, the town is empty though houses and buildings still stand. Though abandoned by people, you may find a mountain goat or two taking up residence in Animas. You can easily get to Animas Forks without a 4x4 vehicle but it is recommended for a smoother ride.
Box Canyon City Park
A walk through the park costs $3 for adults and $1.50 for children but is well worth it. If you are afraid of heights, start off on the lower trail which will lead you to the thunderous falls in about 5 minutes time. After seeing the falls head on, you may want to brave the upper trail leading down to the falls from above.
