Ancestral Puebloan ruins at Chimney Rock Archeological Area will take one back centuries. The Fred Harman Museum, home to the creator of the Red Ryder comic strip, features local history, original paintings, and western movie memorabilia and provides a taste of the west not seen by many folks. The winter offers a fun-filled jaunt to Wolf Creek Ski Area, only a short distance outside of town. Wolf Creek boasts the most snow in Colorado, averaging more than 450 inches of snowfall annually. Lots of fun can be enjoyed by all, with more than 1600 acres of various terrain, low prices, and no lift lines.
