The Town of Telluride is well preserved, therefore it has gained notoriety as being a National Historic landmark. From one end to the other, the town is only one mile long. This easily puts everything within walking distance, however there is a complimentary shuttle service that runs through the town daily. To reach the nearby town of Mountain Village, visitors can take a thrilling and free gondola ride which is located at the base of the ski area.
